Previous Workshops
Native Species Garden planting w/ Cass Eddington - In person at 3701 Gilpin St - Sat 10/21 10am - 3pm.
Limit 10 attendees.
This is a ‘non-traditional’ workshop in that we will actively be working to plant in a new native species garden, and those who come out to help will learn on the fly with us! We will be transforming the front hail-strip of the farm property into a sanctuary garden for pollinators. Folks will learn about plant types, and how to transplant native species in fall, as well as layout principles for designing a good native species garden. This information will be shared casually throughout the day as it is prompted by working with materials. We will be working on this project in 3 phases/sections. The next phase will be spring 2024.
Flexible arrival time, event runs 10am - 3pm. We suggest arriving on the hour and planning to stay for 1.5 - 2hrs (ex 10am - 12pm, 11am-1:30pm, 1pm -3pm). If you’d like to make a small donation to the project to help cover the costs of materials and Cass’s time, that is welcome on-site.
Cass Eddington (they | them) is an educator and poet, and is currently apprenticing with Restorative Landscape Design which is renowned for native species landscaping and restoration design. They also run the creative writing school & platform Vocational Poetics.
